The Rivista di Filosofia del Diritto / Journal of Legal Philosophy, published by il Mulino, is the official organ of the Italian Society for the Philosophy of Law, which is the Italian section of the Internationale Vereinigung für Rechts-und Sozialphilosophie, or IVR for short (the International Association for the Philosophy of Law and for Social Philosophy). The journal has recently been promoted to a Class A— Sector H3: Philosophy of Law —in the ranking maintained by the Rome-based the Agenzia Nazionale di Valutazione del Sistema Universitario e della Ricerca, or ANVUR for short (National Agency for the Assessment of the University System and of Research).

The journal aims to make significant contributions to issues in the philosophy, theory, and sociology of law, in legal informatics, and in related research areas.

Among its primary purposes is to promote an exchange in jurisprudence between the Italian tradition and the research done outside Italy.

Two issues a year are published, and the articles are selected through a blind-refereeing peer-review process meeting the strictest European standards for assessing the quality of research.
