New Members

Under Articles 3.2 and 3.3 of the bylaws, membership is open to assistants-in-instruction and researchers in disciplines classified as IUS/20, as well as in other disciplines, who can apply by filling out the application form and sending it to the society’s president along with a résumé. Applications will be reviewed at the earliest scheduled meeting of the president and the advisory committee. Membership dues will have to be paid following the instructions found in the membership renewal section of the website, and a mailing address and fiscal code will have to be provided to receive the society’s official journal.

Under Article 3.1 of the bylaws, any current or former professor or researcher specializing in any subject relating to the philosophy of law within the IUS/20 classification is eligible to apply for membership. Applications must be submitted to the president of the SIFD and will be reviewed during the first scheduled meeting of the president and the advisory board.

Renewing Your Membership

Your SIFD membership needs to be renewed annually by wire transfer to Società Italiana di Filosofia del Diritto (SIFD):

Membership dues as €75 for full and associate professors and €40 for assistant professors and nontenured lecturers.

Once you have made your wire transfer, please write an email to the SIFD secretary, Raffaella Brighi, at cirsfid.segreteria-sifd@unibo.it, notifying her of your payment and providing your fiscal code, so that she can update the membership roll as required by Italian law.

Membership dues include a subscription to the Rivista di Filosofia del Diritto / Journal of Legal Philosophy, which is the society’s official organ. As a member you can also participate in all SIFD activities, point out and be notified of events relating to the IUS/20 research area, and have your publications listed in the designated section of the journal.
